Whether your special day is a birthday, wedding or anniversary you will want to be looking at your best on the day and in the photographs that will be taken.

The way you go about losing weight for your special day will depend on how far away it is.  Hopefully you have allowed yourself lots of time as the last thing you want is to be worrying about whether you will fit into your favourite dress on the big occasion.

If you do find yourself short of time don’t panic as there are several different diets that can help you to lose weight quickly.  These quick weight loss programs are not the recommended way of losing weight but they do have their uses in an emergency.  Diets such as the cabbage soup diet, the lemonade diet and the grapefruit diet can all get good results quickly but it is much better to allow yourself plenty of time to lose weight and get in shape.

To make sure that you are in great shape for your special occasion I would recommend starting your diet and exercise plan at least 4 months before your special day.  This will allow you plenty of time to get in shape and lose weight healthily.  The two most important aspects of losing weight are diet and exercise.  Having a healthy well balanced diet is more important than counting calories.  If you have a healthy diet with the minimum of unnecessary extra calories from snacks, fizzy drinks etc weight loss will naturally follow.

To look great in the pictures a lean toned body is a must.  The best way to get this is through a combination of light resistance training and cardio exercises such as swimming and aerobics.  To stimulate your metabolism and improve your fitness it is advised that you exercise for at least 3 hours every week.
