How Do I Lose Weight For
My Wedding?

With all the other pressures on a bride on the run up to her wedding the last thing she needs to be worrying about is how she is going to look on the big day.  It is natural to want to look your best on your wedding day and in the pictures that will provide a lasting memory of your special occasion.

The time to start losing weight is at least 6 months before the wedding.  This allows you plenty of time to get in shape and will help to prevent any last minute panics about whether you will fit into the dress or not.  Today’s wedding dresses tend to be sleeker and more revealing than those of years past which can make the arms, shoulders and stomach particular areas of concern for many upcoming brides.

Fortunately there is lots of help available for brides to be.  Wedding day “boot camps “ have become increasingly popular over the last couple of years and it may certainly be worth hiring the services of a personal trainer once or twice a week to optimise your training routine.  If you are working out on your own it is recommended that you do a mix of light resistance training and cardio exercises to tone the body and increase fitness.

Having the right diet is also essential for weight loss before a wedding.  Having a healthy diet and eating healthy food is more important than counting calories.  To lose weight you should be eating lots of fruit and vegetables, be reducing the number of empty calories in your diet (snacks and fizzy drinks) and eating smaller portions.

The habits that are learnt in the run up to a wedding can provide the basis for a healthy lifestyle that will last a lifetime.  The most important thing to remember is to allow yourself lots of time to lose weight and get in shape so you don’t add any more stress to what can already be a stressful time.
